What is the LocoPedia?
Merriam-Webste r defines an encyclopedia as " a work that contains information on all branches of knowledge or treats comprehensively a particular branch of knowledge usually in articles arranged alphabetically often by subject". A locomotive is defined as " a self-propelled vehicle that runs on rails and is used for moving railroad cars". Therefore, I will define the LocoPedia as a work that treats comprehensively a particular branch of knowledge, pertaining to diesel locomotives, in various articles, arranged in no particular order. As a sophomore in high school, now four years ago, I wondered why there didn't seem to be a comprehensive, up-to-date, resource on locomotives. There are more to locomotives than rosters, books quickly ran out of date, and Wikipedia never delved into the minutiae of locomotives that always intrigued me.
